SAN ANTONIO – The latest project being funded by the South Texas Business Fund, STBF is an automotive shop in Spicewood Texas. Mike Mendoza, STBF senior loan officer with over 25 years of experience worked on project.
Mr. Jose Luis Perez, owner of Bee Caves Automotive is an entrepreneur who came to the United States with a dream of owning his business. Born in Mexico City he began his work experience in 1971 at a Mexico City repair shop. By 1981 he opened his own repair shop in Nuevo Laredo Mexico, eventually moving to the United States and settling in the Austin area. Bee Caves Automotive was established in 1982 by Boyd Freitag the business was sold to his niece, Kathy Stewart and her husband Billy Stewart. In 1992 the Stewarts hired Mr. Perez as a Master Technician who rapidly became a valued employee of the company; by 1999 Mr. Perez bought the company.
The South Texas Business Fund is a certified development company that makes it easier for small businesses (including start-ups) to access capital – especially those that do not have access through more traditional means. The fund makes loans from $15,000 to more than $4 million through various programs and banking partnership.
